Get ready to indulge your senses and elevate your taste buds on Saturday April 6 from 12 noon to 6pm with Dungowan Day Out, with the new curtain raiser and a flagship event for Taste Tamworth officially unveiled today.
This exclusive experience sees the team from Dungowan Brewery join forces with a hand picked line-up of musical talent and the region’s leading craft beer brewers to host a day filled with good food and good company set against the rustic charm of Dungowan Valley.
Australia’s queen of soul Lisa Hunt will travel to Tamworth to wow audiences with not one but two massive sets, with only the best homegrown acts booked to support including Goldheist, the Sam Buckley Duo and the Loren Ryan Band.
The culinary team at Dungowan Brewery are preparing an exciting menu with a choice of four incredible dishes designed to showcase the best in local produce whilst catering to all dietary needs.
With tickets now on sale, organisers are hoping to capitalise on the recent success of the Tamworth Country Music Festival and attract return visitors from neighbouring regions.
“It is our hope that this fresh Taste Tamworth event will entice visitors from neighbouring regions to return to Tamworth and experience our hospitality,” said Keagan Cohen, Manager of Dungowan Brewery.
“Dungowan Day Out brings great food, soulful tunes and the best local craft beers together for a day to remember.
“This will be an upmarket food and music festival channelling the style and sophistication of the Long Lunch, with a choice of ticket packages available and up to 400 guests expected to attend” he said.
Included in the ticket price, a complimentary shuttle bus will take guests from the steps of the Tamworth Town Hall on a picturesque coach ride to Dungowan Brewery, travelling through farmland and valleys framed by the spectacular Northern Ranges. Buses will then start returning to town from 4pm with an after-party arranged at the Post Office Hotel.
Included in the day’s fun, guests can challenge their friends to a social game or two in the dedicated Lawn Games Arena or say hello to the many farm animals that roam the grounds neighbouring the Brewery including current favourites – a herd of Highland cows and a cheeky litter of piglets.
Tamworth Regional Council’s Acting Director for Growth and Prosperity Peter Ross said that “today’s announcement is just a taste of what’s to come with more of the 2024 Taste Tamworth program to be announced in coming weeks.
“Our region has long boasted a strong culinary appeal which has helped Taste Tamworth grow to be a 10-day gastronomic extravaganza with events that highlight local producers, chefs, eateries and in more recent times, a growing number of boutique breweries and distilleries.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dungowan Day Out as a vibrant precursor to Taste Tamworth 2024. This event encapsulates the essence of our region's culinary diversity and community spirit, setting the stage for an unforgettable festival," said Mr Ross.
Early bird ticket deals are available until 29 February with tickets now on sale with Destination Tamworth’s Entertainment Venues via www.tastetamworth.com.au or by phone on 67675200 or in-person from the Capitol Theatre Box Office (Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm).
Dungowan Day Out is supported by Joblink Plus Social Enterprise who recognise the need to bring more music events to the region whilst celebrating the diversity of the industry and the artists who work within it.
